Team BT 2012 Challenge

On 31 October we started the 1000 day countdown to the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics Games.  To mark this BT gave an amazing lights and fireworks display from the BT Tower.

Just like the athletes who are preparing for the Games, BT is setting its sights high with the Team BT 2012 Challenge.  It will help everyone in the company focus on the future.  The ‘challenge’ we are taking on is a simple one – to make BT a better business with a better future.

To showcase the launch key intranet sites, including BT Homepage promoted the 2012 Challenge.  You can see from these examples how we have coordinated the changes.

There will be some more changes to BT Homepage’s structure which I will share with you later this month.

  1. Hello Mark,

A bit of feedback re the color change for 2012- It’s not really doing it for me, like Patrick Mooney’s comment on the Blog I like the idea of freshing it up but the repeat pattern is OTT for my liking and a graduation across would possibly look better (more work with the graphics though).

On a picky note there is another little thing that my eye is drawn to on numerous pages and that is the left col table id=”mainnav” where the gif for the Essentials link albeit the same size as the BT Help, Collaboration and About BT links has a smaller proportion of purple than the others. Increasing the size of the gif it looks like it fades rather than a solid colour.

Sad, I know, and insignificant in the grand scheme of things but you did ask ….sorry!

    pedantically yours 😉

    • Dave,

Wow! A pedant who is open about it? 😉

Thanks for picking up the issue with the gif. It’s perfect timing. We will be able to change this in time for the beta testing of the next set of changes.

I’ll bear your feedback in mind on which colour scheme we use….maybe if there is enough server space, test both of them.

  2. Hi Mark,

Looks good. Would be interested to know the process and stakeholders behind this (i.e. who had sign-off, sponsorship etc). enjoy the day

    • Mark,

      Thanks for your feedback.

Do you mean the Team BT 2012 Challenge? If so, it was Ian Livingston, BT’s CEO.

If you mean the BT Homepage changes then it was me.

If you mean the designs then it was my boss who coordinated all the changes across BT to web pages.

      Hope that helps………
